Gateway of India, Mumbai

Day 01 : Arrive Mumbai
On arrival, you will be met by our representative & transferred to your hotel. Spend the day at leisure and overnight in Mumbai.

Day 02 : Mumbai
In the morning enjoy a half day tour of Mumbai, including the Gateway of India before taking an afternoon excursion to the 7th century rock cut temples at Elephanta Caves 9 Kms away across the beautiful Mumbai Harbour. Return to the city and overnight in Mumbai.

Day 03 : Mumbai - Trivandrum - Kovalam
This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Trivandrum, where you will be met on arrival by our representative. It is a short drive to Kovalam where you can enjoy the full range of facilities you would expect at an international beach resort, but with the added bonus of the natural warmth of the Keralan locals. Indulge yourself with a massage, swim in the tepid waters of the Lakshadweep Sea or just enjoy the sun and sand. Overnight at hotel in Kovalam.

Day 04 : Kovalam
Today you have the option of a day excursion to Cape Camorin- the southernmost tip of India and the place where the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean meet. On the way back visit Padmanabapuram Teak Palace & Archaeological museum and return to Kovalam. If this doesnt appeal, the option of lying on the beach is equally valid! Overnight in Kovalam.

Day 05 : Kovalam - Houseboat
After breakfast drive towards Cochin visiting Krishnapuram Palace on the way. At Thottapally, board a private houseboat and commence your cruise on the unique backwaters of Kerala with traditional Keralan meals prepared on board by your crew. Overnight on the Houseboat.

Day 06 : Alleppey - Cochin
Disembark the motor boat at Alleppey and drive 90 minutes to Cochin. Afternoon at leisure with time to explore the historic port town with its myriad influences, and later in the evening witness the famous Kathakali Dance performance performed by professional artists in an Air-Conditioned Auditorium. Overnight in Cochin.

Day 07 : Cochin - Thekkady
The drive to Periyar is quite spectacular as you wind your way up into the Western Ghat. A scenic journey past mist capped mountains, spice plantations and open grasslands lined with spectacular water falls & delightful trekking trails form the access to your hide way here.Overnight in Periyar (Thekkady).

Day 08 : Thekkady
Today you have full day to trek with a local guide deep inside the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. There is a large population of elephants in the park and your guide will be doing his best to help you get close to a herd. You will climb hills for spectacular views over the park, and your guide will show you the signs that indicate the presence of a variety of species of animals. Later on a boat safari on the Periyar Lake or a tour of one of the exotic spice plantations in the area will cap off a most memorable day. Overnight in Periyar.

Day 09 : Thekkady - Munnar
In the morning, drive towards Munnar, through sprawling tea plantations and situated 1800m above sea level. Relax and enjoy the area and overnight in Munnar.

Day 10 : Munnar
The highest peak in South India Anamudi, 2695m., towers over the Munnar area. This is also the last refuge of the Nilgiri Thar, a rare mountain goat. Many other species abound in the tropical rainforest of this region including Langur monkeys , Sambar, Gaur and lion-tailed Macaque. In the afternoon go for a jeep ride in Eravikulam National park, and overnight at Munnar.

Day 11 : Munnar - Cochin
In the morning drive to Cochin, with the afternoon free to relax. In the evening you can enjoy a Kathakali dance performance in the comfort of an air conditioned auditorium. Overnight in Cochin.

Day 12 : Cochin
Today a sightseeing tour of the historic city awaits including the Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Dutch Palace, and Chinese fishing nets. The combination of all these influences and more makes Cochin the unique and fascinating place it is and you will have more time later in the day for further exploration. Overnight in Cochin.

Day 13 : Cochin - Mumbai
This morning you will be transferred to the airport to board your flight to Mumbai. On arrival you will be transferred the International Airport for flight back home, or to a city hotel to await the beginning of your next tour if your choose to stay on and explore more of India.
