08, 09, 10 : GoaIndias smallest state, Goa was as stronghold of the Portuguese who held onto power here until after independence. Now known primarily as a place of glorious beaches and warm clear waters, you are free to explore the area or do just about nothing if you wish! 3 more Nights in Goa. Day 11 : Goa - Cochin After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cochin, in the paradisiacal state of Kerala. This is a direct flight only on Tuesday and Saturday. On other days you will need to transfer via Mumbai. In either case you will be met/ or assisted with the transfer. The remainder of the day you are at leisure, followed by an opportunity to see a performance of traditional Keralan Kathakali dance in the comfort of an air-conditioned auditorium. Overnight in Cochin. Day 12 : Cochin The historic port city of Cochin is a unique blend of religious and cultural influences. Here you will have the whole day to take a tour of the Jewish Synagogue, St Francis church, the Chinese fishing nets on the harbour and more besides. Overnight in Cochin. Day 13 : Cochin - Munnar Drive to Munnar, a place of breath-taking beauty and a haven of peace and tranquility, with a vast expanse of tea plantations, pristine valleys and mountains, exotic species of flora and fauna in its wild sanctuaries and forests, and the aroma of spice scented cool air. Overnight in Munnar. ![]() Day 14 : Munnar Day at leisure with excursions available if you wish. Overnight in Munnar. Day 15 : Munnar - Periyar Drive to Periyar (Thekkady), home to one of the largest wildlife reserves in India, alive with exotic flora and wildlife. Late afternoon is the perfect time to take a boat ride on the lake and have a good chance of seeing elephants as they come to the water's edge to drink. Overnight in Thekkady. Day 16 : Periyar This morning you will be able to take a tour of a spice plantation and see the cultivation of a wide variety of the exotic plants which early European traders coveted so highly from this region. Later, drive to Kumarakom and upon arrival board your houseboat and begin your journey through the picturesque backwaters and small lakes relaxing in the tranquility of Kerala's beautiful scenery. Your crew will prepare delicious Keralan style food on board the boat, overnight on board the houseboat. Day 17 : Houseboat - Alleppey - Cochin After breakfast aboard the houseboat, sail to Alleppey. Here you will be met at the wharf for the drive to Cochin. The rest of the day is at leisure, and overnight in Cochin. Day 18 : Cochin - Bombay In the morning transfer from hotel to the airport for your flight to Mumbai. where you will be met on arrival., and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure for own activities and to enjoy the facilities of the hotel. You can choose to fly out tonight or extend for one or more days to enjoy the sights around Mumbai. These include the splendid Elephanta Caves while the city itself is among India's most captivating.
